Bills to Pay
a coffin hotel manager that has known Guei for several years now
James is a middle-aged, chain-smoking man who manages the Nitestop Coffin Hotel in Seattle. Nitestop is the first coffin hotel that Guei stayed at when he left home, and he frequently returns when he needs to be in a familiar “safe” place. James doesn’t talk much, recognizing that people who stay in places like his aren’t interested in either chatting or ambiance. However, he keeps a particular eye on Guei because he feels an inexplicable fatherly concern for the introverted technomancer, and he has also helped James in the past with technical issues.
